After-School All-Stars

Organization Description

Founded in 1992, After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is a leading national provider of year-round, school-based, free, comprehensive after-school programs. The organization’s mission is to keep children safe and help them succeed in school and in life. Every school day, low-income youth in ASAS’ 19 communities have access to free programs that allow them to increase academic readiness, explore career opportunities, implement regular health and wellness habits, practice visual and performing arts and build STEM skills.

Why We Invested

The ASAS team works toward one common goal: close the opportunity gap and reinvent what after-school looks like for low-income students. As a national yet nimble organization, ASAS is uniquely positioned to scale innovative, high-quality SEL practices to prepare youth to thrive across the country.

Impact of SCE Support

ASAS launched a multi-year impact initiative to improve program and instructional quality, deepen impact in SEL and youth skill development, and increase staff capacity and retention. SCE’s investment will help support the organization’s ability to design, deliver and evaluate quality programs for youth with a focus on integrating high-quality SEL practices, programs and measures.

After-School All-Stars provides comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life.
