Sprockets St. Paul

Sprockets is a network of many different after-school and summer programs in Saint Paul. Their vision is that all Saint Paul’s youth will develop their abilities as learners, contributors, and navigators so they can recognize and achieve their greatest potential.

Their network includes:

  • The City of St. Paul
  • St. Paul public schools
  • Various nonprofit partners

Sprockets was funded through the third phase of the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Challenge, which focused on demonstrating how the Preparing Youth to Thrive content, training, performance measures and practices can be integrated into youth serving organizations across the country to improve SEL practice. Five afterschool system partners with local, statewide and national reach participated in partnership with David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality. The initiative culminated in the release of case studies that will highlight the process of how each organization integrated the social and emotional learning supports and these lessons will be shared widely with the field.

Sprockets improves the quality, availability, equity and effectiveness of out-of-school time learning for all youth in Saint Paul through the committed, collaborative and innovative efforts of community organizations, government, schools and other partners.
